The Spelling Bee – the famous linguistic challenge faced by the brightest students of American schools – is now being held in our school!
On January 20th, our 1st and 2nd grade students were bombarded with some confusing English words and competed for a tremendous prize – a state-of-the-art e-book reader graciously sponsored by our partner PocketBook. The glorious nine, who have got through to the final stage of the competition, did not let themselves get tricked by our native British pronouncer and excelled at spelling such words as ‘lieutenant’, ‘acquaintance’ and ‘miscellaneous’.
