The Invisible Ghost

The Invisible Ghost is poem about death. A short yet intriguing text, surely worth your time.

Written by: Aleksandra Miłachowska, 1st grade

On top of a tombstone, there sat a ghost, Greeting the recently deceased, as if he was the host. Who knows, perhaps he was one, who could say? No one knows much about the old graveyard anyway.

He kept sitting, kept watching, kept waiting, Mocked the dead, kept teasing, laughing at them, perhaps baiting, But the souls marched on, not sparing a glance, To catch their attention, he didn’t stand a single chance.

The spirits didn’t see, didn’t even look, As if not just life, but visibility death took. So he’s stuck there, waiting for somebody, To notice and become his friend, his buddy.
